On May 20th, the Ross Laboratory was featured in the article, University of Pittsburgh Pain Center helps explain itching, in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Read it here.  The article accentuates our research which culminated in our Neuron paper and underscores the growing importance and aggression of itch research.  The Ross Laboratory is excited to continue its work, deciphering the circuitry of itch.

While kappa-opioids, like dynorphin, reduce itch, they do not completely eliminate it.  Synthetic kappa-opioids will hopefully serve as a much needed model for itch treatment.
